Use of Graphic Design Through News Websites and Its Role in Developing Political Awareness Among University of Baghdad Students

The current research sought to identify the effect of graphic design in news websites on developing political awareness among a sample of students at the University of Baghdad. To achieve the goal of the research, the field and descriptive analytical method was used. The research tool was the questionnaire tool, which was distributed electronically and randomly to a sample of students at the University of Baghdad. Which consisted of (304) items, the number of males was (204) and the number of females was (100). The research reached several results, the most important of which is that graphic design affects the receiving audience and gives it more credibility and clarification of the data when using graphic design. It also affects the recipient’s attractiveness to the news event. On the site, graphic design on news sites increases understanding of political matters and the sample’s awareness of political news, thus increasing their political awareness of internal and global political developments and events. The research recommended the importance of designing political news sites in a way that helps students organize political content and make it clearer and simpler, which increases from their understanding of political events and enhances their political awareness.
