كان الشعر والغناء الجاهلي قديم موغل في القدم، وقد مر بأطوار ومراحل، فمن عهد بداية وطفولة الى عهد ترعرع الى ازدهار واستواء، وقد وصلنا الشعر الجاهلي مستوياً من حيث الشكل الموزون والمقضي والأسلوب الجميل الموجز والخيال الخصب وفي لغته القوية، ولم يكن هذا الاستواء نتيجة عمل شخص معين، بل كان عمل أجيال متعاقبة، وليس بالإمكان تحديد فترة معينة لبدء تلك المحاولات ولكن ما بأيدي الرواة يصل الى مائتي سنة قبل الهجرة على أعلى تقدير كما قال الجاحظ: وأما الشعر فحديث الميلاد صغير السن وأول من نهج سبيله وسهل الطريق إليه امرؤ القيس بن حجر ومهلهل بيع.
لذا استوقفني روعة الموضوع واخترت عنواناً مناسباً له وهو: (تعليم الشعر والغناء للأطفال عند العرب قبل الإسلام) وقسمت الموضوع الى ثلاث مباحث:
المبحث الأول: تعريف الشعر لغةً واصطلاحاً.
المبحث الثاني: تعريف الغناء لغةً واصطلاحاً.
المبحث الثالث: ظهور الشعر والغناء وتعليمه للأطفال قبل الإسلام.
ثم أعقبت البحث بخاتمة وقائمة بالمصادر والمراجع.
