إدارة واستغلال الغابات في فرنسا خلال سنوات الحرب العالمية الاولى (1914-1918)

مع بداية القرن العشرين كانت فرنسا تتمتع بمساحات واسعة من الغابات قدرت بـ (18٪) من مساحتها الكلية، وشكلت مصدر مهم لتوفير المادة الاولية لعدد من الصناعات ومجال عمل لمئات من المزارعين، مع قيام الحرب العالمية الاولى في اب 1914 ومشاركة فرنسا فيها، فقدت فرنسا ما يقرب من (6.356.320) دونم من اراضي الغابات بحسب تقديرات سنة 1914، وبهدف معالجة ذلك التأثير عمدت وزارة الزراعة في سبيل تامين احتياجاتها من الاخشاب مع زيادة الطلب عليها الى عدد من الاجراءات ارتبطت بعمليات الاستغلال والمحافظة على اسعار الاخشاب، والتنسيق مع وزارة الحرب في انشاء دائرة الغابات التابعة لوزارة الحرب عام 1917 ومثلها لاستغلال الغابات للنشاطات المدنية، فضلا عن التعاون المشترك مع القوات البريطانية والامريكية العاملة في فرنسا لتنظيم سبل استغلال الغابات اسفر عن مشاركة ما يقرب من (12.000) مقاتل بريطاني و(18.543) مقاتل امريكي في النشاطات المرتبطة بالغابات، وعلى الرغم من كل تلك الجهود التي بذلتها الحكومة الفرنسية فان الحرب تركت اثارها السلبية على ثروة وطنية امتلكتها منذ عهود قديمة، وجعلتها امام مهام اعادة تأهيلها بعد نهاية الحرب.
